Who we are
Pitch & Pack is an independent guide to camping & backpacking gear. We are not a manufacturer or a retailer, and no brand pays for a place in our picks.
We do not physically test products. Instead, we collect each model's published specifications and compare models side by side on the specs that matter for real jobs, using rules anyone can read on our methodology page.
How we work

Collect the specifications
For every product we record its specifications from the manufacturer's or retailer's listing, with the source and the quoted evidence for each figure.

Compare against real jobs
Picks follow written use-case rules, such as the clearing width a two-car driveway needs. The same rules apply to every brand.

Write and check
Articles are drafted with the help of AI tools from that data. Every figure on a page is filled in from our product database, and each draft is checked automatically against our editorial rules before it is published.
What we don't do

We compare published specifications; we never say we tested, owned or used a product.
